Title: Accounting Manager & HR Administrator
Reports to: President
Pay rate: Negotiable based on skills and experience

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some extended hours may be required to complete time-sensitive work.
At least one year of experience in bookkeeping, billing and benefits administration
Proficiency in Excel and Word
Ability to learn our accounting software, Sage300 Construction & Real Estate/TIMBERLINE
Based in Ypsilanti, Michigan, A.F. Smith Electric is a large electrical contracting company that handles residential, commercial and industrial jobs. We are looking for a hardworking, trustworthy, dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team. General duties encompass basic accounting, processing documents for jobs in our project management system, and processing employee pay and benefits through our HR management system.
Working with project managers to set up job cost estimates and schedules of value for bids
Generating and submitting monthly progress billings and all supporting documents as required for construction jobs
Working with project managers to process contract change orders
Supporting HR processes of employee lifecycle, including pre-employment, onboarding, and new hire orientation
Tracking paid time off, and providing yearly summaries, annual benefits renewals, and updates
Organizing meetings regarding employee benefits programs
Reconciling bank and credit card statements monthly
Closing out contract and service work billings monthly and generating subsequent A/R and bank reports
Managing A/R cash receipts, electronic depositing and credit card processing
Performing annual and quarterly audits with an accounting firm
Tracking assets/fleet vehicles
Working with company owner on annual commercial insurance renewal and year-end audits
